The Portal maintains a repository of resources for common sharing across the whole community. It provides technical support for collaborative problem-solving by offering:

• a rich collection of web-based resources - publications, projects, software, projects, people, organizations, problem descriptions, solutions for problems, etc.
• mechanisms to assemble such resources (through interaction between members) into so-called "solution patterns".

The Portal is based on semantic web technologies, embodying the best practices of ontology-based web development.
