Activity Workshops
 
Purpose The purpose of the workshops is to share experiences between participants and build the Community of Practice.
 
Description Contributing to the community-building process, workshops provide an opportunity for individuals with different backgrounds and perspectives to share knowlege, information, experience, problems and solutions in the field of Electronic Governance.

Discussions will focus on a variety of subjects ranging from standards to open-source technologies to specific problems peculiar to the developing world. In particular, each workshop provides a forum to:

  1. raise particular societal needs,
  2. present government-adopted measures to address such needs, along with the challenges faced,
  3. discuss a possible solution framework based on international and local experience, and
  4. disseminate the knowledge gained, through the portal.

The participants of the workshops - experts, academics, practitioners, developers, government officials, civil society leaders and others are invited to join the Community as members.

The figure below shows how workshops are organized and conducted by members, attended by participants who can later register as members, and are presented by experts who are current members.
