Cleopas Officer Angaye, a Nigerian national, is the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Nigeria. His primary responsibility is to develop the Information Technology Sector in Nigeria through policies, regulations, and capacity development programmes. Before joining NITDA, he was a Visiting Professor and Consultant at Winston-Salem State University, NC, USA and Senior Research Scientist at Computer Information Science, Denton, Texas. He was also an Assistant Director and Head of Computer Services at the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Nigeria. He possesses substantial knowledge in software development and holds a number of software patents in the areas of facial recognition and communications. Some of his works have been published in ACM SIGCE Bulletin. He holds M.Math (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D in Computer Science from KSU Manhattan. He is member of various professional bodies including American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, IEEE Computer Society, Digital Equipment Users Society and Nigerian Computer Society. |
