The aim of the Workshop was to discuss the design - aim, objectives, deliverables, schedule, etc. of the newly established project on Semantic Interoperability for Electronic Governance, a collaboration between UNU-IIST and Microsoft.

The aim of the project is to develop foundational and technical solutions to the problem of semantic interoperability, particularly for public organizations, and disseminate the findings among e-Government practitioners. In particular, the dissemination will involve establishing the "Semantic Interoperability for Electronic Government" thematic area within UNeGov.net.
