abstract The presentation aims to bring together the current E-government initiatives in Nepal and the organic growth of software utilization in the Government sector. The paper endevours to identify critical areas where focused interventions will be required from project initiation to project closure stages with increased involvement from the process owners, business unit managers, ICT engineers and developers to collaborate on Government Interoperability Framework (GIF) leading to successful implementation of Enterprise Architecture (EA) as a significant tool for enabling agencies to work together and for all of Government Agencies.

bio Vivek S Rana has over 15 years of experience in Information Communication Technology (ICT) initiation, planning, deployment; information security analysis/audit and IT project management. He has worked for many agencies, across industry sectors, including commercial IT, Health, Government, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Financial Services. His focus has been on large or complex project and corporate environments. He holds a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering in Digital Communication from University of Arizona. He is currently working on the ADB Technical Assistance programme for developing ICT E-gov project for Nepal. He is also involved in Bhutan on planning and deploying ICT infrastructure for the Government. Prior to this assignment he was working as the Chief IT with Bank of Scotland Ireland (UK) on World Bank Financial Sector Reform programme with Nepal Bank Limited.
